On March 5th, 2020, the Virginia Attorney General announced a settlement involving Center for American Homeless Veterans and Circle of Friends for American Veterans, two Virginia-based organizations, and their founder Brian Arthur Hampton. According to the AG's news release, the settlement shuts down the "allegedly deceptive" organizations, permanently bars Hampton from soliciting charitable contributions and holding a fiduciary position with any charitable organization, and requires a distribution of $100,000 to charities that provide real assistance to homeless veterans, including the Bob Woodruff Family Foundation, Homes For Our Troops, and Virginia Supportive Housing in Richmond.
